Marta Sernesi

Présentation

J’ai rejoint la Ve section de l’École Pratique des Hautes Études en tant que Directrice d’études en religions tibétaines en 2019. Formée aux études tibétaines et bouddhiques à Rome (Université La Sapienza) et à Paris (École Pratique des Hautes Études), j’ai obtenu un doctorat en études indiennes et tibétaines à l’Université de Turin en 2007. J’ai ensuite occupé des postes de recherche et d’enseignement à l’Université Ludwig-Maximilians de Munich, à la School of Oriental and African Studies de Londres et à l’Université d’Oxford. En 2019, j’ai complété mon habilitation à diriger des recherches (HDR) à l’Université de Munich. Mes recherches portent sur l’histoire culturelle et religieuse du Tibet et de l’Himalaya. En particulier, je m’intéresse à la littérature d’instruction, aux pratiques méditatives tantriques, aux sources biographiques et narratives, et au paysage institutionel du bouddhisme tibétain. Je travaille également sur l’histoire du livre dans le monde tibétain, étudiant les modalités de production et de circulation des textes et les débuts de l’impression xylographique.
