Thesis : Distinguishing from “vulgar classicists”: Wang Chong (27-97?) on knowledge and identity of men of lettres

Considering the major political debates at the time of Wang Chong, this research constitutes a systematic attempt to contextualize the philosophical discourses of Wang Chong. A specific task would be to define the term “vulgar classicists”, which appeared no later than Xunzi, but which appeared in a slightly different context through Western Han and Eastern Han dynasties.
