Presentation
Since 2019, I have been conducting research in the field of gender geography, at the intersection of feminist and decolonial epistemologies, first on male homosexuality (research thesis), and then on Mongolian feminisms (doctoral dissertation), in contemporary Mongolia and more specifically in the capital, Ulaanbaatar.
In my dissertation, I analyze how Mongolian feminisms and, more broadly, mobilizations around women’s rights and gender minority rights are reinventing public, political, and urban spaces in contemporary Mongolia, while challenging the gendered, neocolonial, and heteronormative categories that structure knowledge about Mongolian societies. I pay particular attention to bodies and gendered embodiments, conceived as sites of power, resistance, and knowledge.
In addition to my affiliation with CRCAO, I am an associate member of the geography laboratory Médiations – Sciences des lieux, sciences des liens (RNSR 2020 238 99 V, Sorbonne University), where I am part of the research focus “identifications and sociabilities.”
