The journal Études Mongoles was founded in 1970 by Roberte Hamayon, and is currently housed in the Centre for Mongolian and Siberian Studies of the École Pratique des Hautes Études and the Centre for Research on East Asian Civilisations (CRCAO-UMR 8155). In 1976 its range was extended to include Siberia, and later, in 2004, Inner Asia and Tibet, when its name was accordingly changed to Mongolian, Siberian, Inner Asian and Tibetan Studies (EMSCAT). EMSCAT publishes original works in French and English by scholars from France and abroad.
